Karachi: Pakistani qualifier Syed Hamzah Shah Bukhari after making impressive show in Phoenix Open – the PSA World Tour Challenger 10 squash event, finally lost his summit clash to Australian Rex Hedrick in Tempe in the US state of Arizona. Hamzah reached the climax of the event after seeing off Canadian Nicholas Sachvie in straight games to reach the first Tour final of his career.

Meanwhile, the top seed from Melbourne was taken the full distance in the semi-finals before overcoming unseeded Pakistani Tayyab Aslam in a 100-minute marathon encounter.

Although the Australian player recorded a straight set victory in the final but Hamzah put his best in each game as the match was perhaps the longest of the tournament spreading over two hours. Hendricks recorded a 11-9, 11-9, 11-7 to claim the title.
