SSA organizes Refreshers and Training Courses from June 1

Karachi: Sindh Softball Association SSA chairman Javed Hanif on Monday announced that SSA would be organizing Refreshers and Training Courses from June 1 at different schools and colleges in Karachi.

Javed said that qualified coaches and umpires will train students and impart knowledge about the sport at different colleges in an effort to lift the standards of the game at grassroot level.

“SSA will also celebrate World Softball Day on June 13 by organizing tournaments in Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Sukkur and Larkana,” Javed said during Executive Committee meeting of SSA.

He also said summer camp would be organized for U15 boys and girls where the youngsters would be able to learn about the sport and also get the training.

Javed said that SSA would also reach to the rural areas of Sindh along with the cities in order to hunt talent and boost Sindh players’ representation at national level.

He added that SSA was also working with Pakistan Softball Federation PSF in order to arrange national team’s foreign tours so that players could enhance their talent by playing against international teams.

SSA President Jahangir Mughal, Secretary Asif Azeem, Vice President Mohammad Zeeshan Merchant, Pervaiz Sheikh, Zaheer Hussain, Ayesha Irum and Shagufta Kazmi were also present during the meeting.
