NAUNDERO: On the call of Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM), a complete shutter-down strike was observed in Naundero on Tuesday against prolonged electricity load shedding.

All shops and markets remained closed in Naundero. The activists of JSQM also took out a rally, held demonstration and blocked main Larkana-Sukkur road near Shahnawaz Bhutto railway station crossing.

The traffic on Sukkur-Larkana remained jammed, causing trouble to commuters. The protesters burnt tyres and chanted slogans against SEPCO authorities. The civil society also joined the protest against power load shedding.

Comrade Hameed Soomro, head of JSQM Naundero, told newsmen that the 14-hour-electricity outage has created lot of problems to citizens and crippled their social life. He said that when the federal government announced a uniform policy of carrying out 8-hour-load shedding in cities and 10-hour in villages, then what was the justification to carry out more power load shedding.

The protesters demanded end to power load shedding and action against SEPCO employees involved in theft of power in Naundero.
