Sudan plans to raise agricultural exports to $10 billion by 2020

Khartoum (UNA-OIC) � Sudan announced on Wednesday an action plan to increase the exports of agricultural production to $10 billion over the next three years.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Investment Mubarak Al-Fadhel Al-Mahdi said in a press statement that the joint vision between the government and the private sector related to improving production aims to increase the agricultural and animal exports to $10 billion by 2020.

The minister added that the export of these commodities amounted to $1.8 billion in 2016, and rose to $2.5 billion in 2017. He called for extending production into the vertical dimension by introducing technology to benefit from the value-added products.
