Tapi seeks Thatta district polls under army Says his life is at danger after recent bombing

THATTA: Owais Muzaffar Tapi, the foster brother of President Asif Ali Zardari, and PPP PS88 candidate on Monday demanded holding of general elections in Thatta district under the supervision of army.

This he demanded while talking to media at the residence of former MPA Rukhsana Shah. Owais Tapi said that he faced threat to his life after recent bombings. In this regard, government and SSP have also been informed, he added.

Tapi said he was running poll campaign despite having no normal security. He said that PPP would sweep polls in Thatta district with clear majority.

On this occasion, Ali Ahmed Kehar joined PPP along with his supporters. NA237 candidate Sadiq Ali Memon and former MNA Dr Abdul Wahid Soomro were also present on the occasion.

Meanwhile, important personalities belonging to PPP have quit their party and joined Sheerazi group after being annoyed by the district party leadership.

Former PPP district president Syed Iqbal Shah along with senior party leader Haji Hasan Jakhro joined Sheerazi group in the presence of Syed Ejaz Ali Shah.
