Three cops killed in encounter with dacoits

Ratodero, Sindh: Three policemen were killed in encounter with a dacoits near Kambar on night between Sunday and Monday. As per details, three cops and an alleged criminal were killed and one constable injured during the police encounter with the criminals of notorious bandit Vishoo Chandio the limits of Bahram police station of Kambar-Shahdadkot district.

The victims include SHO Sub-Inspector Abdul Khalique Bozdar of Bahram police station, Head Constable Ghous Bux Joyo and police constable Juman Rahar. An unknown criminal also died in the encounter.

A constable, Nadir Khokhar, was injured and is under treatment at the Chandka Medical College Hospital Larkana. The bodies were also shifted to the same hospital.

According to police, the SHO Bozdar was on routine night duty in his private car when he spotted armed criminals standing on Kambar-Shahdadkot road. On seeing the police the gangsters started indiscriminate firing with sophisticated weapons due to which SHO and his police guard were killed.

SSP control was informed and police of the district rushed there and exchanged firing with bandits in which Constable Juman of Kamber PS was injured and an unknown criminal killed. Juman was shifted to Chandka Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Emergency was declared in the hospital.

Medical Superintendent Dr. Safiullah Abbasi, Commissioner Larkana Saeed Mangnejo and Deputy Commissioner Mirza Nasir Ali, DIG Larkana, Khadim Rind, and other police officers arrived to look after the treatment procedures to save the lives of their colleagues.

SSP Kambar-Shahdadkot district Ghulam Sarwar Abro told Journalists that this seems to be a notorious criminal gang which will be eliminated soon. The post-mortems of all the martyred police men were conducted at the mortuary of the Chandka Hospital and then handed-over to the police for burial.

Hospital sources said that Medico-Legal Officer Dr. Mujeeb Khooharo, had refused to conduct the postmortem as according to his argument the dead bodies and the crime was committed in another district hence postmortem should also be conducted there but on the intervention of the MS and district government authorities he conducted the same without police inquest report.

Inspector Bozdar was laid to rest in Ratodero, Ghous Bux in Waris Dino Machi and constable Juman was laid to rest in Sujawal Junejo. Their funeral prayer was performed at Ratodero in which besides their relatives DIG Larkana, SSP Kambar-Shahdadkot and others participated.
