Three killed, 10 injured in Kharadar firing

Karachi: At least three people including a woman were killed and 10 others injured after unidentified men opened indiscriminate fires on shops in Kharadar, the old city area of Karachi on Friday.

According to police, unidentified men riding on six motorcycles opened indiscriminate fires on shops near Mehran Bakery in Kharadar area, killing three people and injuring 10 others. A car and several shops also came under attack.

The victims were identified as Fatima, wife of Javed, Fazal-e-Maula son of Shireen and Faisal son of Aman. The injured were identified as Shahab,10, son of Aurang, Saleem, 40, son of Abdul Ghani, Fareed ullah, 35, son of Abdul Razzaq, Imran, 30, son of Sharif, Ahmed, 60, son of Abdullah, Ali Khan, 55, son of Mewa Khan, Tariq Mehmood, 30, son of Irshad, Ubaid, 14, son of Ghulab, Amjad, 30, son of Nizam Mubin and Faraz, 30, son of Shiraz.

The deceased and injured were shifted to Civil Hospital for autopsy and treatment.

Later, residents of the area staged a protest demonstration against the incident at tower and chanted slogans against gang war criminals. They also burnt tyres to block road leading towards Native Jetty Bridge. The rangers and police fired tear-gas and dispersed the protestors.
