Three pairs of Lemurs inducted in Karachi Zoo

KARACHI: KMC Metropolitan Commissioner Matanat Ali Khan has said that Lemurs recently inducted in Karachi Zoo was a unique animal in Pakistan and citizens were visiting to see this animal.

This animal has increased importance of Karachi Zoo. Three pairs were confiscated by custom authorities in last days which were later on handed over to KMC. He said this quick animal was rare in whole world and it was an honour to induct this animal in Karachi Zoo.

He said it was first time that this animal has been kept for exhibition in Zoo. It was good that generation of this animal increase in Zoo whereas this rare animal was only found in Madga City of African subcontinent. Metropolitan Commissioner Matanat Ali Khan said that these animals were being looked after carefully in Zoo and thousands of citizens were visiting Zoo for looking these animals.

He said separate employees have been deployed for looking after these animals. Sr Director Cultural Sports & Recreation Shoaib Waqar informed that induction of Lemurs in Karachi Zoo was excellent.
