Tight security around courts & residences of judges

SIALKOT: Police beefed up tight security around the local courts and the residences of the judges in Pasrur, following the call of the Pasrur lawyers to lock up the courts and not let the judges allow to work in the courts. A big contingent of police remained present there in the local courts on duty to secure the local courts and judges’ residences on Friday.

The lawyers in Sialkot, Daska, Pasrur and Sambrial, observed complete strike for the third consecutive day to express complete solidarity with the lawyers of Pasrur. The lawyers boycotted the courts and wore the black arm bandages, besides, unanimously passed several condemnation resolutions, demanding immediate transfer of the both of the judges Raja Zahid Hussain and Mujahid Sher Dil from Pasrur.

On Thursday, the Pasrur City police had registered a case under sections 147, 148, 224 and 225 PPC against as many as 50 accused local lawyers for attacking the court of a local civil judge and ransacking the court furniture and other things there during vandalism and hooliganism in a Pasrur court, as protest against the conviction of a local lawyer by the said court in a six years old case in Pasrur here on Wednesday.
