Traffic camera project to be linked to central command, control system

Karachi: The police have decided to link the traffic camera project of Karachi to the central command and control surveillance system for getting even better results.

This was decided in a meeting held in central police office with inspector general police Sindh Shahid Nadeem Baloch in chair.

The meeting was told that under the traffic camera system besides 158 fixed cameras, 40 such cameras have also installed on different central streets and intersections that could move up to 360 degrees. The command and control of these cameras is at the CPO. It was decided to link the traffic camera project of Karachi to the central command and control surveillance system to further improve the network of the surveillance system on one hand and to expand traffic monitoring and regulation on the other.
