Tribesmen to assist forces to maintain peace in KhyberMarch 14, 2013
LANDIKOTAL: Without peaceful environment no development works can be done. The tribal are loyal people and have rendered countless sacrifices for the honour of their beloved country.
Lieutenant Col. Ijaz stated this while addressing a joint tribal jirga of Shinwaris, Afridis and Shelmani tribes, convened by the administration to discuss the security situation here in Jirga hall of tehsil Landi Kotal on Thursday.
Beside the forces representative, Assistant Political Agent APA Landi Kotal, Dr. Azmat Wazir, political tehsildar Shakeel Barki and other officials were present on the occasion.
Welcoming the representative gathering of the elders, APA said that being a fresh deployed administration officer he has a vision to keep peace in the area and start development projects to facilitate the people of this area.
He assured the elites that all case were kept pending for years, which will be solved soon on merit basis and justice will be provided to all without paying heed to their status and positions.
He stressed upon the tribal elders to play their territorial role and cooperate with forces and administration to create durable peace in the area so that development activities could be initiated.
Addressing on the occasion wing commander Lieutenant Col Ijaz urged the tribesmen to create unity among their ranks and assist the forces through information sharing to flush out miscreants in the area in the larger interest of the
He said that innocent people and children were killed in the bomb explosions, which need to be checked and restore complete peace in the area so that people could live a happy life. He also said that without cooperation of the local community, it was hard to establish peace.
We are one nation and Pakistanis that is why it is our collective responsibility to work jointly for the betterment of the country, he remarked, adding that there was complete understanding and coordination between security forces and political administration. The tribal elders assured the authorities of their full cooperation regarding peace and development.
