Jerusalem (UNA-OIC) Palestinian Ambassador to Turkey Faed Mustafa announced on Monday the start of handing over the Juhr al-Deek housing project in the Gaza Strip, funded by Turkey through the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), under the supervision of Palestine’s Ministry of Public Works and Housing.

Speaking to the Voice of Palestine Radio, Mustafa said the project consists of 320 housing units, primarily intended for the poor and owners of destroyed houses, adding that the project will formally be inaugurated in the presence of Turkish officials.

On another note, Ambassador Mustafa stressed that the Turkish side has shown great interest in contributing to financing the construction of a desalination plant in the Gaza Strip along with a number of other countries. He indicated that the Palestinian Water Authority is making arrangements for an international donor conference to provide the remaining funding for the construction of the plant.
