Ufone launches Golf Kids Clinic

Karachi: Taking on board top golfers of the country, Ufone is launching Golf Kids Clinic throughout the country, with its first phase starting here from today Wednesday at Karachi Golf Club.

Top national golfers – namely Pakistan No 1 Shabbir Iqbal and No 2 Matloob Ahmed would also join the two-day camp to share their experience with the children to promote the game among the youngsters.

Two international coaches – Pakistan No 4 Mohammad Nazeer and Azhar Shah Bukhari – who are certified by USGTF United States Golf Teachers Federation would teach basics of the game to the participating children in order to attract their interest towards the sport.

Around 50 young children – with 5 to 15 years of age would participate in the event in two different phases. The first phase would be for the age group of 5 to 9 years and the second phase for the age group of 10 to 15 years.

During the launching ceremony of the Golf Kids Clinic program here Tuesday at a local hotel, Matloob Ahmed praised Ufone for supporting the sport of golf in the country.

“All the recreational activities and sports need corporate support and Ufone is doing that. Golf has been a neglected sport in the country but now Ufone stepping up to foster future golfers of Pakistan, I feel a new era has begun for golf in the country,” he said.
