UN urges North Korea to engage in dialogue after new nuclear law

The United Nations has called on North Korea to resume dialogue with key parties to achieve sustainable peace and the complete and verifiable denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.

The Spokesperson of the UN Secretary General Stephen Dujarric told reporters in New York that the Secretary General Antonio Guterres is deeply concerned by North Korea’s adoption of new law, declaring the country as a nuclear weapon state.

The law also enshrines North Korea to use right of preemptive strike to protect itself.
