Update News: Five lose lives in Karachi violence

Karachi: Five people, including a worker of a political party, were killed in separate firing incidents on Wednesday.

A 28-year-old man, Sarfraz, son of Ahmed, was gunned down by unidentified armed men near Baqi Medical Hospital Nazimabad No 5 within the remit of Nazimabad police station.

The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medico-legal formalities.

Recue sources said, the man was active worker of a political party. Killing sparked violence in Nazimabad and its adjoining areas. The miscreants forced shopkeepers to shut their business in the area.

Similarly, a 30-year-old man, Muhammad Saleem, was shot dead in Sector-5 New Karachi. The body was moved to ASH for an autopsy.

Separately, a man, whose identity could not be ascertained yet, was killed in shooting near ICI Bridge, Keamari Town. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for a postmortem.

In another firing incident, a 60-year-old man, Mujeeb Gul, son of Sohrab Gul, was killed in firing incident in Bilal Colony, Korangi Town within the precincts of Awami Colony police station.

The body was brought to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for a postmortem.

A man, aged around 25, was gunned down in Lalaabad, Landhi Town within the limits of Sukkhan police station. The identity of the victim could not be ascertained yet.

The body was shifted to JPMC for medico-legal formalities.
