US Defense Secretary has not threatened to stop aid to Pakistan: FO

Islamabad: Pakistan has rejected all media reports regarding any warning from US Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel during his visit to Islamabad.

Foreign Office Spokesperson Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry told media during weekly briefing in Islamabad on Thursday that reports regarding threats by the US Defence Secretary to halt aid to Pakistan are baseless.

He said Pakistan has been continuing NATO supplies through southern routes.

Aizaz Chaudhry said Pakistan and United States have difference of opinion on drone strikes in Pakistani territories. However‚ the overall relations between the two countries are good.

To a question‚ he said the Prime Ministers of Pakistan and India have decided that ceasefire on Line of Control must be respected and since then‚ by and large‚ both countries have avoided any mishap on LoC.

To a question‚ he termed Pakistan and Iran ties excellent and said Pakistan is fully committed to gas pipeline project between both countries.
