Uzbekistan to open Islamic culture exhibition tomorrow

Tashkent (UNA-OIC) � Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Culture will open an exhibition under the theme of “The country enjoys a developed Islamic culture” in Tashkent on Wednesday.

The week-long exhibition will feature craftsmen, artists, painters, top officials of national culture, young people, public media representatives, art lovers and guests of the Central Asian country.

The main aim of the exhibition is to showcase the Uzbek folk handicrafts, traditions and customs, which were developed in harmony with Islam. The exhibition visitors can learn about the history of Uzbekistan’s crafts as well as the role of Islam in the culture and arts of the Uzbek people and their material and moral heritage.

The exhibition will also showcase the works of Uzbek calligraphy, wood engravings and the art of miniatures.
