Valour important than weapons in winning wars

Karachi: Aafia Movement Pakistan leader Dr Fauzia Siddiqui has said the nations win wars not just weapons but with bravery and valour. In her statement on the occasion of a candle light vigil of Aafia Movement Pakistan in front of Karachi Press Club KPC) in the memory of legendary pilot MM Alam who passed away in Karachi previous day she said that she was saddened by the news of demise of MM Alam, who was a pride not only for Pakistan Air Force but the whole nation. She said it was not possible to pay tribute in words to the heroes like MM Alam. May Allah, the Almighty, place the departed soul in Jannatul Firdous.

She said the whole nation and their armed forces are determined to defend the country. This ambition is the guarantee for the defence of the motherland. She said Dr Aafia Siddiqui also had the same ambition to serve the nation when she returned after staying in the US for 10 years to complete her higher education, but sadly this daughter of the nation is presently languishing in an American prison.

On the occasion Dr Azra, president Aafia Movement Women Wing Karachi chapter and other workers of the Movement were present.

Separately, Dr Fauzia Siddiqui has shown deep concern on the ongoing target killing spree in Karachi and said that all peace loving Karachiites should join hands to save their city from the blood and fire. Condemning the target killings of College Principal Sibte Jaffar, Dr Asad Usman of Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, Perveen Rehman of Orangi Pilot Project and other innocent people, she said Aafia Movement would hold a peace reference/ protest demo at the Karachi Press Club on Wednesday, 20th March at 4 pm, which would be participated by citizens, teachers, doctors, lawyers, students and civil society members.
