QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch has said that our relations with China are exemplary and these are becoming stronger with the passage of time. Chinese companies were working in Saindak, Gwadar Port and Duddar. China is a strong economic power. We desire investment of Chinese Companies and other foreign investment companies in Balochistan.
He expressed these views while speaking to Vice President Chinese company Lightening Africa International Lin he who called on him in Islamabad Thursday.
He said Balochistan electricity requirement is around 1500 megawatts but owing to short transmission we receive 700 mw. In view of scattered population and long distances solar energy and alternative means can help improve energy crisis to a great extent.
He said agriculture mainly depends on underground water and electricity tube wells. Due to electricity crisis our zamindars are facing multiple problems which are causing negative impacts on agriculture. With use of alternative source of energy this crisis can be overcome.
Representative told that their company is interested in increasing electricity generation through solar energy in the province.
Chief Minister said we would welcome increase of electricity generation through alternative sources and interested companies would be provided complete security.
