Water shortage stakes lives of thousands

DERA MURAD JAMALI: Water shortage in Dera Murad Jamali has taken very serious turns and lives of more than one hundred thousand 100, 000 people has been staked. Water flown into Pat Feeder canal four days ago could not reach Dera Murad Jamali.

According to details, water sources have dried up in Dera Murad Jamali for one week. Irrigation Department by its lip service announced supply of water in Pat Feeder canal four days ago which could not reach Dera Murad Jamali yet. People are waiting for a drop of water and lives of one lakh people are at stake in the city.

Superintending Engineer Irrigation told Media that 2500 cusecs of water has been released in the canal which Executive Engineer said 1600 cusecs have been released. People are surprised that two officers under one roof are making so different statements and why water could not reach Dera Murad Jamali after four days.

Due to acute shortage of drinking water situation in Dera Murad Jamali is becoming serious.

Commissioner Nasirabad Division Qambar Dashti has directed Irrigation officials for immediate supply of water.

It may be added here that Pat Feeder Canal has capacity of 6700 cusecs of water.
