Woman dies, another injured in blast at Khalid Bin Waleed Road

Karachi: A woman was killed and two other persons including a woman and a security guard were injured in a blast at Khalid Bin Waleed Road, within the limits of Ferozabad Police Station.

Talking to PPI over telephone, SHO Ferozabad, Safdar Mishwani, said that one woman was killed and two others including a woman and a night watchman were injured when one of the women touched a suspicious packet kept outside a house at Khalid Bin Waleed Road.

Rebuffing hasty news break claims some media outlets, the SHO said that the blast took place more than a kilometer from the nearest Imambargah. He also denied the news break claim of firing. He said both women belonged to poor families of Seraiki belt and used to work as house maids.

He said that both women were close relatives, and resident of Lines Area. Moreover, the husband of the victim was taken into custody by authorities for further investigation.

The woman, who was killed in the blast, was identified as Nasreen, 50, daughter of Rab Nawaz while the injured woman was identified as Azra, 30, daughter of Aamir. The guard who suffered wounds from the blast was identified as Mohammad Khan, 25, son of Mohammad Jan.

The body and injured were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.
