Women & Family Commission celebrates ‘Int’l Hijab Day’September 17, 2014
Karachi: The Muslims of entire world love with veil and right of every Muslim woman, adding that every Muslim woman is well aware of taking veil. This was stated by the President Women and Family Commission, Sindh President Atiya Nisar at a ceremony organized by the Women & Family Commission on International Hijab Day at PECHS Community Hall.
Addressing the gathering, Atiya Nisar said that the exhibition on International Hijab Day is being observed to express solidarity with the women who take veil.
A large number of women participated in the programme while stalls were also setup by the JI women wing where Hijab and ‘Abayas’ were sold.
Dr Samia Raheel Qazi, President Women and Family Commission, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) said that the veil has put billions of dollars fashion industry in danger as the women in western world also giving priority to take veil in their routine life. She further said that the Muslim women are returning towards their basic teachings of Islam.
On the occasion, Dr Samia thanked the participants in attending the ceremony on International Hijab Day.
Ayesha Syed, JI MNA while addressing the participants said that Hijab was not only to cover face, but to comply the teachings of Islam.
“A campaign is being continued to against the Hijab in western world, but the Muslim women with bravery facing the hardships in western world”, she added.
She made it clear that veil was not a hurdle in progress adding that it is giving inner satisfaction to the women who take veil in their work places.
MNA Ayesha Syed stressed upon a proper legislation in the Parliament for safeguarding the basic rights of the women.
Afshan Naveed, Rana Fazal, Talat Zaheer, Naila Iqtedar and others also spoke on the occasion.
Later, Hijab awards were distributed among the women belonging to different spheres of life. The participants of International Hijab Day were also expressed their solidarity with Marwa Al-Sher Bini, who killed in Germany during court proceedings in the pretext of taking veil.
