Working Group constituted for Information and CultureAugust 5, 2013
Peshawar: The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has constituted a Working Group for Information and Culture to take measures for bringing about positive changes in the Working of Information and Culture Department as deemed necessary.
The Working Group will comprise Pervez Khattak, Chief Minister as Chairman while Secretary Information and Culture as Member/Secretary, Additional Secretary Information and Culture Deptt: as Member/Focal Person, Shaukat Ali Yousafzai Minister Health, Mehmood Khan Minister Culture, Arif Yousaf MPA, Musarrat Qadeem, Paiman, Islamabad, Director Information, Director Culture, Abasin Yousafzai, Head of Pashto Deptt: Islamia College University of Peshawar, Omer Khan, Coordinator Governance Support Project, P&D Department Peshawar, Ismail Khan, Daily Dawn, Ms. Bushra Farrukh, Women Writers Forum Peshawar and Rahimullah Yousafzai Daily News will be members of the Working Group.
Terms and Reference for the Working Group would be as under: To guide the department in preparing a communication strategy so that the reform agenda of the new provincial government is effectively projected/implemented, to finalize the establishment of a media cell in the Chief Minister’s Secretariat Peshawar for projecting the positive image of the new government and to regulate information on social network, print and electronic media, to review the current advertisement policy of the Information department and suggest changes therein if deemed necessary, to advise the department on how best to utilize the two FM Radios of the provincial government i.e. Pakhtunkhwa Radio (FM 92:2) Peshawar and Pakhtunkhwa Radio Mardan for publicity of the provincial government, to suggest measures for welfare of journalist community of the province and to ensure freedom of media, to suggest measures for strengthening the Directorate of Information so that it can effectively respond to emerging challenges in the field of communication, to suggest measures for preservation, promotion and projection of the culture of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, to formulate plans for saving the dying traditional arts/crafts of the province through the “Khud Kifalat” scheme of the provincial government and other initiatives and to suggest measures for welfare of the cultural community of the province, says a notification issued by Information, Public Relations and Culture Department Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
