Peshawar: In partial modification of Transport Department notification, the competent authority has approved working group in respect of Transport Department which will comprise Yaseen Khan Khalil, Advisor to CM for Transport as Chairman, Qurban Ali Shah MPA, PK16 Nowshera-V, Fazal e Shakoor MPA, PK17 Charsadda1, Gul Sahib Khan Chairman DDAC/MPA PK40 Karak1, Secretary Transport Department KP, Prof. Dr. Sayed Akhtar Ali Shah, Department of Urban Planning and /Regional Development, University of Peshawar, Dr. Riaz Akbar, Chairman, Mecha Tronic Department Specialist in Traffic Engineering, University of Engineering & Technology Peshawar, Almas Khan Khalil, President, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Transport Union Peshawar as member and Director Transport Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as Member/Secretary.
The working group will take measures for bringing about positive changes in the working of Transport Department as deemed necessary.
Terms of Reference for the working group are; to guide the department in formulation of policies to get the objectives fixed by the new provincial government for bringing a visible change in the condition of general public; to bring the department in line with the present needs of the day with regards to better transport arrangements; to guide the department to formulate guidelines for effective performance of the transport department with the new assignment; to formulate a strategy for implementation of proposed Mass Transit System in Peshawar city for better traffic management; to guide the department in providing the facility of driving licenses and the facility of government driving schools in a quick and effective manner; to guide the department in overseeing the input and better management of public transport stands/addas for the facility of general public and a change for better and to guide the department formulating policies for a close check on safety of passengers to ensure safe journey to general public. It was notified by Transport Department Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
