Same curriculum to be implemented in Punjab from August 1, PA informed

A Session of Punjab Assembly was held at Assembly Building in Lahore.

Speaker Chaudhry Parvez Elahi chaired the session.

Responding to a cut motion of opposition, Provincial Minister for School Education, Murad Raas said that same curriculum will be implemented in all over Punjab from 1st of August this year.

He told the House that government has allocated 19 billion rupees to PEF schools during budget of 2021-22.

He said that 1200 schools have been upgraded and seven thousand will be up upgraded near future.

He said that teachers can apply for transfer, retirement and for ACR through e- transfer system which has been introduced by present government.

Protest rally organized in Muzaffarabad against Indian PM Narendra Modi

A protest rally against Indian Prime Minster Narendra Modi’s Kashmir Conference was held in Muzaffarabad today (Friday).

The demonstrators while carrying banners and placards chanted anti-India and pro-freedom slogans.

Addressing the rally, Chairman Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir Uzair Ahmed Ghazali and other speakers said India wants to hide its war crimes in the illegally occupied Kashmir by arranging such conferences.

They said India wanted to divert the world’s attention from grave human rights violations and war crimes in the occupied Kashmir.

Punjab Govt taking steps to eliminate deprivation of S. Punjab: Hanif Patafi

Advisor to Punjab Chief Minister for Health Hanif Patafi has said that Punjab Government is taking effective steps to eliminate the deprivation of South Punjab and multi-billion rupees have been allocated for the development projects in Dera Ghazi Khan Division.

He said this in a meeting held in Dera Ghazi Khan .

He said that a dam will be constructed at Sora in Tehsil Koh-e-Suleman at the cost of five billion rupees to store the water of Hill Terrain on the special directions of Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar.

He said that centres and nasheemans and Panaghas will be constructed for the women, disables and homeless people in DG Khan at the cost of millions of rupees.

Govt striving to ensure provision of basic amenities in Balochistan: Kamal

Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan has said that the government is striving to ensure the provision of infrastructure and basic amenities in all areas of the province without any discrimination.

Talking to the Editors of various newspapers in Quetta he said that several projects have been included in the budget for construction of new hospitals and enhancement of facilities in existing hospitals of the province.

Replying to a query, Jam Kamal said that the project of laying down a water pipeline from Pasni to Gwadar with the cost of six billion rupees will be completed within next two months to overcome the water scarcity in Gwadar.

Samina Alvi calls for data-based policy to tackle rising tendency of breast cancer

A breast cancer awareness session was held at Aiwan-e-Sadar, Islamabad today (Friday) to raise awareness regarding the disease and measures to overcome it at an early stage.

Doctors gave a thorough presentation on the occasion to help women understand the causes, symptoms, treatment and importance of early diagnosis of the disease.

They said Pakistan has highest percentage of breast cancer cases in Asia as about ninety thousand women every year are diagnosed with it.

First Lady Samina Arif Alvi who was the chief guest on the occasion called for proper data collection of the disease in the country so that a comprehensive data-based policy could be adopted for its prevention and cure.

She urged the women to give importance to the early signs of the disease instead of waiting for it to get worse.

Highlighting the government’s resolve to encourage women in every strata of life, the First Lady said the government plans to start vocational training programs for women on the basis of which they will be given jobs.

She said through Ehsaas Kifalat, Kamyab Jawan and other such programs the government has made disbursement of loans easier for women interested in starting their own businesses.
