President terms increase in exports vital to boost economy

President Dr. Arif Alvi has urged the business community of readymade garments to export value added products to increase exports of the country.

Addressing an award ceremony of Pakistan Readymade Garments in Islamabad on Thursday, he said rise in exports is pivotal to stabilize country economically.

The President also urged the businessmen to develop a Pakistan-brand on the basis of reliability and honesty which is also part of our Islamic ethos.

He said peace in Afghanistan will prove to be bonanza for Pakistani business community. He said peace in Afghanistan is as much beneficial for Pakistanis as for Afghans.

He said GSP+ status of Pakistan provides an access to European markets which needs to be utilized.

Talking about women inclusion to business, the President said participation of women is imperative for the development of the country.

Highlighting the potential of information technology sector in increasing exports, he said government is working to increase exports of IT sector up to five billion dollars till 2023.

Syed Ali Gillani continued his struggle for Kashmiris till his last breath: PM

Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi called on Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad on Thursday.

Fateha was offered for late Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Gilani in the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Imran Khan said Syed Ali Gillani continued his struggle for Kashmiris right to self-determination till his last breath. He said all the sympathies of the people of Pakistan are with them.

Later, they discussed short-term and long-term strategies for improving governance in Azad Kashmir and providing relief to the common man.

Ghaibana Namaz-e-Janaza for Syed Ali Gillani held at parliament, Islamabad

Ghaibana Namaz-e-Janaza for veteran Kashmiri leader, Syed Ali Gillani was held at the parliament in Islamabad on Thursday.

It was attended amongst others by President Dr. Arif Alvi, Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani, the President and the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir and the parliamentarians.

Later talking to the PTV News, President Arif Alvi paid tributes to the services of Syed Ali Gillani for the cause of Kashmiris. He said the people like him will continue to born in Kashmir.

The President regretted that promises made by the international community with Kashmiri people have not been fulfilled. He said the Kashmiri people are facing the worst Indian oppression.

He said the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K) will soon get independence from the cruel Indian clutches.

The President said Modi government is stoking fire within India through its oppressive tactics against minorities.

In his remarks, the AJK President Barrister Sultan Mahmood said the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir want to become part of Pakistan. He said the world community should take notice of the situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

AJK Govt announces three-day mourning on Syed Ali Gillani’s demise

The Azad Jammu and Kashmir government has announced three-day mourning across the state on the demise of Chairman Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Gillani.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister AJK Sardar Abdul Qayyum Khan Niazi and President Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry have expressed grief sorrow over the death of Syed Ali Gillani.

They paid rich tributes to his untiring struggle for the Kashmiri’s right to self-determination.
