President Dr Arif Alvi has promulgated the Income Tax (Amendment) Ordinance 2022 for industrial development in the country.
According to press release issued by the President’s media wing, the law aims at attracting investment, promoting industrial sector and reviving the country’s sick industrial units.
It also offers an incentives package for the revival of sick industries.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrives in Islamabad today (Thursday) on a two-day state visit to Pakistan, on the invitation of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
He will be accompanied by a high-level delegation, comprising the Foreign Minister, members of the Cabinet, senior government officials, businessmen and media persons.
During the visit, the two sides will review the entire gamut of bilateral relations including cooperation in political, trade and economic, connectivity, education, culture, security and defence domains.

The SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry has urged the world, especially the US and European Union, to extend greater financial assistance to people of Afghanistan.
Talking to a delegation of traders from South Punjab in Islamabad, President SAARC Chamber Iftikhar Ali Malik said it is better to engage Afghanistan and bring it back to the mainstream instead of trying to weaken it through unjustified and unwarranted unilateral sanctions.

World Wildlife Day is being observed on Thursday under the theme “Recovering key species for ecosystem restoration”.
To mark the day, various global organizations are holding events to draw attention towards conservation status of some of the most critically endangered species of wild fauna and flora.
