You’ll Be Able to Repair Samsung Phones Yourself Soon

Following in Apple’s footsteps once again, Samsung is making it easier to repair Galaxy smartphones from now on. The company has announced a Self Repair program for its smartphones following a partnership with iFixit.

The Korean phone maker announced its new Self Repair program earlier this week. This program will provide authentic parts, repair tools, and repair guides to those who want to repair their Galaxy phones themselves. This is similar to Apple’s Self Service Repair program that is set to launch this year.

Apple’s new service is currently limited to iPhone 12 and 13 models. Similarly, Samsung is only offering its Self Repair service to the Galaxy S20, S21, and Tab S7 Plus for now. Even the newly released Galaxy S22 series is not supported at the moment.

This should increase the overall life of Galaxy smartphones and will also make it easier to find authentic parts for your smartphones. For those without any repairing experience, Samsung will also provide step-by-step guides to get started. This will let you replace broken display panels, rear panels, charging ports, and other components.

Samsung’s Senior Vice President of customer care, Ramon Gregory, said that the brand is:

creating more ways for consumers to extend the lifespan of [its] products with premium care experiences.

It is unclear when Samsung’s Self Repair service will be launched, but we will update this space once there is more information.

You Can Now Directly Add YouTube Videos in Snapchat

Snapchat recently announced a new feature for its users that will allow them to share videos directly from the YouTube app, instead of manually copying and pasting them.

In an official blog post, the company stated that users will now get a custom sticker with video thumbnails instead of the URL. The blog post reads:

Starting today, all Snapchatters across iOS and Android can seamlessly share their favorite YouTube videos with their friends straight through the Snapchat Camera – no more pesky copying and pasting required!

The move comes after Snapchat realized that over 2 billion of its users visit YouTube to ‘tune into videos.’ The company highlighted that it wanted to make it easier for users to share their favorite clips or videos directly on Snapchat without having to leave YouTube.

The update is a first where YouTube links can be visually shared as tappable stickers onto a Snap. The integration can still be accessed while using the camera or the full suite of Snapchat Creative Tools.

We believe in the power of visual communication, and with this partnership, we’re giving our community infinite ways to express themselves, share what they’re watching, and layer on their creative takes.

How to Add YouTube Videos to a Snap

To share a video from YouTube on Snapchat, you can follow these steps:

1. Open the YouTube app and select a video to watch.

2. Tap the ‘Share’ button and tap ‘Snapchat,’ which takes you to the Snapchat Camera.

3. Create your Snap with the YouTube sticker.

4. To view the video, other users can simply tap on the sticker and view the video on the YouTube app.

Twitter Will Soon Let Two Users Write The Same Tweet

Twitter is reportedly exploring a new feature that would allow two accounts to co-author a single tweet.

The news comes from TechCrunch who reported that the ‘Collaborations’ feature is yet to be made public. The feature only works after one user accepts a request to collaborate with another. It will also serve as a gateway for creators to partner with businesses on brand advertisement deals.

App researcher Alessandro Paluzzi was the first to dig up the feature from the app’s code back in December 2021. Paluzzi also found a collaboration button added to the tweet composer screen.

Paluzzi notes that only public accounts following a user can co-author a tweet. Once a collaborative tweet is published, they are shared with followers from both accounts, with avatars of both shown on the top-left of the post.

Twitter will also have to introduce mechanisms that would prevent users from spamming the feature.

The platform has yet to announce when it will roll out co-authored tweets to the masses.

Microsoft Edge is Now the Second Most Popular Browser

Gone are the days when Microsoft Edge was only used as a download manager for Chrome or other browsers. Microsoft’s revamped internet browser has now beaten Safari to become the second most popular browser in the world.

This update was spotted on Statcounter, which shows the global market share for popular internet browsers. The statistics for March 2022 show that Microsoft Edge now holds 9.65% of the global browser market share, which is barely ahead of Safari’s 9.57%.

Microsoft’s victory over Apple may not be a temporary one as Edge was expected to take over Safari since February 2022. Safari’s loss of users and Edge’s gain has gradually gotten to a point where the latter has finally taken over.

Google Chrome still maintains a monumental lead with a staggering 67.26% market share. This shows that it is still the undisputed king of browsers and will not be beaten anytime soon. The other two names in the top 5 list include Firefox and Opera.

Mozilla Firefox currently holds 7.57% of the total market share while Opera only has a meager 2.83%.

It is worth mentioning that the stats shown above are only for desktops and laptops. If you switch to smartphones, tablets, or other platforms, Safari jumps back to the second spot with an 18.85% share, while Edge drops to 4.05%.

Microsoft’s victory likely has to do with Edge becoming a more advanced browser over the years or Windows 11 forcing people to use it for system-related links, or maybe it’s a mix of the two.
