A tripartite agreement has been signed between InfoTech Group,Pakistan, Valyrian Systems, USA and Obeikan Investment Group , Saudi Arabia to revolutionize healthcare delivery.

The agreement was reached during the LEAP 2024 tech conference in Riyadh.

The tripartite agreement aims to introduce digital health platforms, ease integration, enhance global healthcare and usher in a new era of innovation. This initiative is likely to further improve investment in Pakistan’s IT sector.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has emphasized concerted efforts by Pakistan and Kuwait to ensure early implementation of their bilateral agreements in different fields.

He was talking to Kuwaiti Ambassador Nassar Abdulrahman Jasser Almutairi who paid a courtesy call on him in Islamabad today.

The Prime Minister said seven agreements worth ten billon dollars were signed between the two countries in November last for collaboration in food security, water supply, hydel power, mangrove rehabilitation, technology and mines and minerals sectors.

He emphasized the role of Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) that provides a robust and efficient mechanism to attract foreign investment into Pakistan.

Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan attaches great importance to its historic and deep-rooted ties with Kuwait and is desirous of further strengthening the same with a focus on trade and investment.

Thanking the Kuwaiti leadership for the warm wishes and felicitations on his re-election, the Prime Minister
extended an invitation to the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Mishal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah to visit Pakistan.

The Kuwaiti Ambassador thanked Pakistan for its support to Kuwait in difficult times and reaffirmed his country’s strong commitment to build closer ties with Pakistan.

On the occasion, the Prime Minister appreciated the ambassador’s contribution in fostering stronger ties between the two countries.

PM directs to immediately provide assistance to rain affected people

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed to immediately provide assistance to the affected people of recent torrential rains.

Chairing a meeting in Islamabad on Tuesday, he said the aid should be disbursed in a transparent manner.

He directed the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to promptly complete a joint survey of affected areas in collaboration with the provinces. He said the aid should reach only the affected people after completing the survey.

The Prime Minister also directed to formulate a comprehensive plan to cope with natural disasters.

The Prime Minister was given a detailed briefing by NDMA regarding assistance to the affected people and rescue and relief efforts.

The meeting was informed about the losses caused by rains and the relief operations and distribution of relief funds by the federal government.

The meeting was told that the NDMA would soon complete a joint survey in cooperation with the provinces, especially the Balochistan government, to verify the fully and partia
lly damaged houses.

The meeting was informed that on the instructions of the Prime Minister, a total of seven hundred and sixty-six thousand kilogram of dry ration will be distributed in Gwadar till the 24th of this month. Three hundred and eighty-eight thousand kilogram of ration has been distributed till the 16th of this month. Apart from this, ninety seven thousand kilogram of dry ration has been distributed in Quetta and Dalbandin.

The meeting was informed about the weather forecast for the next few months and the preparation made by NDMA in this regard.

The Prime Minister directed the provinces to cooperate with NDMA in dealing with natural calamities.

The meeting was also informed that since October, three hundred and twenty tons of relief goods have been sent to Gaza.

Govt will soon introduce mechanism for providing relief to common man: Azam

Minister for Law Azam Nazeer Tarar has said the government will soon introduce a mechanism to provide relief to the common man.

Talking to the media persons in Islamabad today, he said talks will be held with the allied parties on this matter. He said under the mechanism, strict action will be taken against the hoarders and profiteers.

The Minister said the PML-N has always preferred the interests of state over its politics. He said the people of Punjab have given mandate to his party and provincial Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is working tirelessly to address the problems of the people.

US urges interim Taliban govt to prevent attacks from Afghan soil

The United States has urged the interim Taliban government in Afghanistan to ensure that terrorist attacks are not launched from Afghan soil.

Answering various questions during his regular media briefing in Washington, Principal Deputy Spokesperson of the US State Department Vedant Patel said we deeply regret the loss of life and injustices sustained during the attack in Pakistan. He said we urge both sides to address any differences.

The US Deputy Spokesperson said we remain committed to ensuring that Afghanistan never again becomes a safe haven for terrorists who wish to harm the United States or our partners and allies.

He said we are in regular communication with Pakistani leaders to discuss Afghanistan in detail, including through our counterterrorism dialogue and other bilateral consultations.
