The 126th death anniversary of Pakistan movement leader, scholar, Philosopher and educationist Sir Syed Ahmed Khan was observed on Wednesday.

Sir Syed is hailed as the father of the Two Nation Theory and one of the founding fathers of Pakistan, along with Allama Iqbal and Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He was the founder of Aligarh movement which was the base of Pakistan movement.

He died on this day in 1898 in Aligarh, India.

Maryam directs to formulate policy for export of buffalo milk, meat to China


Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif directed to formulate a comprehensive policy for export of buffalo milk and meat to China.

Chairing a meeting of Livestock department in Lahore on Wednesday, she directed that only vaccinated and tagged cattle will be allowed to the cattle market and slaughterhouse.

The Chief Minister emphasized need to establish a disease control compartment in Punjab and a new mechanism to increase exports of dairy products.

PM vows to enhance trade, attract foreign investment


Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has expressed commitment to enhance trade, forge economic partnership, and attract foreign investment in order to transform challenges into the opportunities.

Addressing the Inter-Faith Iftaar Dinner in the honor of foreign ambassadors and High Commissioners in Islamabad tonight, he termed economic revival, governance reforms and uplift of the people of Pakistan as the heart of his government’s agenda.

He said that our constitution guarantees equal human rights to all Pakistani citizens without any distinction.

The Prime Minister said in order to translate it constitutionally guaranteed rights into reality, we have over the years undertaking various policies legal and affirmative measures.

Shehbaz Sharif said we have firmly set our eyes on achieving accelerated development and we are determined to mobilize our full national potential to turn our economic trajectory around.

He said there will be no compromise on our core national interests, on the safety and security
of the people of Pakistan, on our sovereignty and our territorial integrity.

The Prime Minister said as a responsible member of the international community with a proud legacy of proactive and robust diplomacy, Pakistan would continue to contribute to regional and global efforts for peace and sustainable development for all.

Commenting on the Gaza situation, he said we welcome the UN Security Council’s recent resolution demanding immediate ceasefire in Gaza. He said it is imperative that this resolution is immediately implemented in letter and spirit. Brutalities against the Palestinians must end henceforth.

Shehbaz Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s firm support to people of Palestine in their just struggle for their inseparable right to self-determination.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed his unwavering solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir on behalf of the people of Pakistan.

He emphasized that Ramadan is a month of blessings and prosperity, and today’s event reflects our cu
ltural values and promotion of interfaith harmony. He said this month advocates respect for all. It also embodies the spirit of caring for and sharing with those in need.

Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal says government is focusing on planning in health and education sectors in line with a surge in population.

He was addressing a certificate distribution ceremony of Intelligent Project Automation System in Islamabad today.

The Minister underscored the need to adapt to the global technological advancement to compete the world.

He said all ministries and government departments have been directed to prepare their relevant implementation strategy under the five E framework of exports, energy, E-Pakistan, environment and equity and empowerment.

The Minister said Planning Ministry will be fully automated within next six months.

Pakistan, Bahrain agree to further enhance bilateral relations


Pakistan and Bahrain have agreed to further enhance bilateral relations by activating institutional cooperation through early convening of BPC and JMC.

It was agreed in a telephonic conversation between Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar and his Bahrain counterpart Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani today.

Both discussed the entire gamut of Pakistan-Bahrain relations and explored various aspects of enhancing mutually beneficial cooperation.
