Pakistan, Turkiye agree to boost bilateral trade to $5b


Pakistan and Turkiye have agreed to boost bilateral trade to five billion dollars.

This plan was made during a meeting between Minister for Commerce, Jam Kamal Khan and Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr Mehmet Pacaci in Islamabad.

During the meeting, Turkish Ambassador emphasized the importance of enhancing connectivity between Pakistan and Turkiye to achieve their economic targets, including increasing bilateral trade.

Commerce Minister expressed optimism about further expanding trade ties in future in the commerce field.

All resources being utilized to ensure supply of foods : GB Ministers


Minister for food Gilgit Baltistan Ghulam Muhammad has said the government is taking policy-based steps to ensure the supply of quality food and all resources are being utilized in this regard.

Addressing the consultative session in Gilgit to devise a comprehensive strategy for better nutrition by the Planning and Development Department, he said strict disciplinary action is being taken on the delivery and sale of sub-standard food items in all districts of Gilgit Baltistan.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Planning and Development Raja Nasir Ali Khan said concrete steps will be taken to ensure the availability of food items to the consumers and the establishment of a food testing laboratory to ensure supply of quality food.

Special Assistant on Information Iman Shah said that the media and other stakeholders need to adopt a coordinated strategy to spread awareness for the promotion of better nutrition.

SIFC making efforts to bring innovation in agriculture, livestock


Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) is making efforts through Green Corporate Initiative (GCI) and Green Corporate Livestock Initiative (GCLI) to bring innovation in agriculture and livestock.

These initiatives aim to increase production through the use of modern technologies in agriculture and livestock, which are critical for food security in Pakistan. Through precision farming techniques, maximum output can be obtained using minimum material. These measures are expected to reduce costs and increase revenue.

Pak Army organizes one-day free medical camp in Kharmang Baltistan


Pakistan Army organized one-day free medical camp in the remote village of Gamba Pari of Kharmang district of Gilgit-Baltistan.

Pakistan Army provided medical assistance to seven hundred and forty three patients which also included women and children.

Allergy, flu, fever, gastrointestinal and maternity problems, joint problems, physical weakness, toothache, stomachache, blood pressure, diabetes and infection patients were given free medical check-up at the medical camp.

Facilities for blood pressure, sugar test, ECG, ultrasound, lab tests and minor operation theater procedures were also provided to the residents of the area. Patients were provided with free medical examination as well.

Pakistan reaffirms role, authority of UNGA in revitalization efforts


Pakistan has reaffirmed the role and authority of the UN General Assembly in maintenance of international peace and security.

Counsellor at the Pakistan Mission to the UN Naeem Sabir Khan, made these remarks in a statement during the first thematic debate on the “Role and Authority of the General Assembly,” at the UN headquarters in New York.

The Counsellor said the General Assembly’s pivotal role in addressing global concerns such as climate change, development, finance, terrorism, and disarmament, including through the establishment of subsidiary bodies needed to be reaffirmed.

Counsellor Naeem Sabir Khan also proposed the establishment of a dedicated mechanism to monitor the implementation of General Assembly resolutions.
