Punjab govt provided free ration to point 6.4mln deserving families: Azma Bukhari


Information Minister Punjab Azma Bukhari says the Punjab government has provided free ration to 6.4 million deserving families in Ramadan.

Talking to media in Lahore today regarding the government’s performance in the last one month, she said the Punjab government has decided to conduct a survey of the poor in the province within three months.

She announced that the government will construct 3000 houses in each district, for shelter-less and low-income people.

Azma Bukhari said the scope of the safe cities project will be expanded to eighteen districts of the Punjab.

AJK PM voices concern over worsening HR situation in IIOJK


Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwarul Haq has expressed serious concern over the worsening human rights situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Talking to journalists in Muzaffarabad, he said violations of human rights, forced disappearances, bloodshed and killing of innocent people by the Indian occupation forces have become a daily routine in the occupied territory.

Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister said that journalists can play an important role in promoting the Kashmir cause.

Seven killed in rain related incidents in KP


In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a total of seven persons have been killed and nine others injured in roof collapse incidents due to torrential rains.

The roof collapse incidents occurred in Peshawar, Nowshera, Shangla, Bannu and Bajaur which caused partial damages to houses.

Annual Mehfil-e-Shabeena starts from Sunday at Faisal Mosque, Islamabad


Annual Mehfil-e-Shabeena, under the auspices of Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, will start from tomorrow at Faisal Mosque Islamabad.

During the seven-day Mehfil, selected Qaris from across the country will recite the whole Quran.

Qaris from Dawah Academy will also participate in the Mehfil-e-Shabeena.

Each day, the Mehfil will start soon after Isha prayers and will continue till midnight.

Finance Minister assures Sindh govt of full support to boost agriculture sector


Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb called on Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in Karachi today.

During the meeting, they discussed suggestions to improve Small Medium Enterprises in the province.

The Finance Minister on the occasion underlined the need to boost agriculture, livestock and fisheries sector in Sindh.

Chief Minister Sindh said that Provincial government is paying special attention to agriculture and industrial development and construction of flood-affected roads, schools and houses have been started.

It was agreed that the federal and provincial governments will work together to develop the agriculture sector on scientific and modern methods.

It was pointed out that there is ample potential to cultivate export-quality crops, vegetables, fruits, and dairy products to earn foreign exchange.
