Sindh CM reviews progress on K-IV water project


A high level meeting presided over by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in Karachi today reviewed progress on K-IV water project to meet water needs of Karachi city

Addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister said there has already been too much delay in the project, therefore there is no room for further delay.

He directed officials concerned to resolve the land, litigation and other issues of the project.

Punjab CM directs LDA to launch projects to generate revenue


Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed to include slums in the development plan of the Lahore Development Authority.

Chairing a meeting in Lahore today, she directed LDA to launch projects to generate revenue.

The meeting reviewed the restructuring plan of LDA and decided in principle to form an LDA uniformed force. The meeting also discussed a proposal to establish an LDA police station besides commercializing twenty city roads.

KP: Three policemen martyred in separate firing incidents


Three policemen, including a Deputy Superintendent Police, have been martyred and another has been injured in two different firing incidents in Laki Marwat and Bannu districts.

In Laki Marwat, DSP Gul Muhammad Khan along with his gunman was martyred while another constable injured when unknown gunmen opened fire on their van in Manjiwala area.

In another firing incident, a police constable was martyred by firing of unknown assailants in district Bannu.

The funeral prayers of the martyred policemen were offered at Police lines in Bannu today.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned the terrorist attack on Police personnel in Lakki Marwat.

In his condolence message, he commiserated with the bereaved families and prayed for the higher ranks of the departed souls of Shaheed DSP Gull Muhammad Khan, Constable Naseem Gull and others.

The Prime Minister said that cowardly acts of terrorists cannot shake our resolve as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police always stood like a leaden wall against terrorism.

Qaiser Sheikh, Kamran Tessori discuss economic situation of country


Minister for Maritime Affairs Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh called on Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori in Karachi today.

The matters pertaining to economic situation of the country, and the role of Special Investment Facilitation Council came under discussion.

On the occasion, the Governor stressed upon the need for collaborative efforts by all the stakeholders to steer the country out of economic issues.

He said the economic strength is the guarantee for the development and prosperity of the country.

Earlier, the Minister visited the IT marquee and appreciated the public welfare initiatives of the Governor.

Two terrorists killed in Balochistan’s Panjgur IBO


Two terrorists namely Asad and Hasrat have been killed by security forces in an intelligence based operation in Panjgur District of Balochistan.

According to the ISPR, the killed terrorists remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against the security forces as well as innocent civilians in the area.

A cache of arms, ammunition and explosives were also recovered.

Security forces of Pakistan, in step with the Nation, remain determined to thwart attempts of sabotaging peace, stability and progress of Balochistan.
