Govt taking concrete measures for Wildlife conservation: Marriyum


Senior Punjab Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb says PML-N government is taking concrete measures for Wildlife conservation.

Addressing media in Islamabad today, she said under the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz we have started rescue operations against wildlife captivity.

Under this move, recently we recovered six bears that were in miserable condition and their illegal owner was involved in taming them for dancing purpose.

The Senior Punjab Minister said such activities are clear violation of our wildlife laws and international treaty in this regard.

She said in order to promote the wildlife conservation, we are aiming to establish rescue centers. She said Lahore Safari and Lahore Zoo will be utilized for this purpose in first phase.

Appreciating the efforts of Four Paws in Pakistan, she expressed the commitment to work with it for increasing awareness of local community to protect wildlife.

The Senior Punjab Minister said a Wildlife app is also being developed for citizens’ awareness,
that will be launched soon after Eid.

Punjab CM takes notice of girl’s murder during dacoity


Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz took notice of a murder of a girl during a dacoity in Lahore.

The Chief Minister sought an immediate report from the inspector general of police and ordered the arrest of the accused immediately involved in the heinous crime.

Maryam Nawaz expressed her sorrow with the affected family and stated that such nefarious elements are a scourge of the society and must be brought to justice.

PM returns home after completing visit to Saudi Arabia


Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif returned home after completing his visit to Saudi Arabia.

Earlier, the Prime Minister left for Lahore from Jeddah.

Governor of Jeddah Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalawi bid farewell to the Prime Minister at Jeddah’s International Airport.

PDMA KP issues alert about rains in province


The Provincial Disaster Management Authority of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has issued an alert about rains in different parts of the province from Wednesday to Monday.

All the Deputy Commissioners have been asked to take precautionary measures to avoid any human and material losses.

The control room of PDMA can be accessed by dialing 1700 in case of any emergency.

Pakistan, KSA vow to fast-tracking $5b Saudi investment in Pakistan


Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have affirmed their commitment to expediting the first wave of Saudi investment worth 5 billion dollars in Pakistan.

This was stated in a joint statement issued on the meeting between Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud that was held on Sunday in Makkah Al-Mukarramah.

It said during the meeting emphasis was placed on the Kingdom’s supportive role in Pakistan’s economy and the mutual desire to strengthen trade and investment ties.

At the outset, the Crown Prince extended his congratulations to Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on assuming office, and expressed warm wishes for his tenure.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, in turn, conveyed gratitude for the Kingdom’s steadfast support and hospitality, and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to bolstering bilateral ties and economic cooperation.

The discussions centered on fortifying the fraternal relations between the two brotherly nations and exploring avenues
for enhanced collaboration across various sectors.

Both leaders also exchanged views on regional and global developments of mutual interest, including the worrying situation in Gaza.

They urged for international efforts to halt Israeli military operations in Gaza, mitigate humanitarian impact.

They underscored the imperative for the international community to pressure Israel to cease hostilities, adhere to international law, and facilitate unhindered humanitarian aid access to Gaza.

They discussed the need for advancing the peace process in accordance with relevant resolutions of the Security Council and the General Assembly as well as the Arab Peace Initiative aimed at finding a just and comprehensive solution, for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The two sides stressed the importance of dialogue between Pakistan and India to resolve the outstanding issues between the two countries, especially the Jammu and Kashmir dispute to ensure peace and stab
ility in the region.

The Prime Minister of Pakistan invited the Crown Prince to undertake an official visit to Pakistan, at the earliest convenience, which was accepted by the Crown Prince.
