PM, Finance Minister discuss overall economic situation


Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Lahore today and discussed overall economic situation of the country.

The Finance Minister informed the Prime Minister about his upcoming visit to the United States and his scheduled meetings with the officials of IMF, World Bank and other institutions.

China signs agreements with two Pakistani partners for renewable energy development


CHINT Power of China has signed cooperation agreements with two Pakistani partners to provide a strong impetus for renewable energy development in the country.

According to the agreements, CHINT Power will provide optical storage system products and solutions, including inverters, and will also offer technical and service support to the two trading companies.

The Government of Pakistan had devised a plan to achieve renewable energy power generation share of twenty percent by 2025 and thirty percent by 2030.

Senate Chairman vows to serve downtrodden segments


Senate Chairman Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has vowed to continue mission of serving the general public particularly poor segment of society.

Talking to various delegations in Multan, he said that the people would witness development projects in near future.

The Chairman Senate said that PPP would perform its due role for ensuring maximum jobs to unemployed youth.

He also pledged to convert Multan into city of lights.

Wheat procurement campaign to start in Punjab from tomorrow


Wheat procurement campaign will start from Saturday in Punjab.

According to a spokesman of the Food Department, farmers can submit requests for Bardana through the Bardana App.

After verification by Punjab Information Technology Board and the Punjab Land Record Authority, farmers will receive confirmation messages through the Bardana APP.

The issuance of Bardana will commence from Friday next and will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.

The spokesman said a total of three hundred and ninety-three wheat procurement centers have been set up across the province where wheat would be bought from farmers at the fixed price of Rs. 3900 per maund.

Moreover, every farmer will be paid thirty rupees per 100 kg for delivery charges.

A control room has also been set up for resolving complaints during the wheat procurement campaign.

Gilani urges political parties to work together to cope challenges


Chairman Senate Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani says all political parties have to work together to deal with the challenges being faced by the country.

He expressed these views while addressing an Eid Milan reception ceremony hosted in his honour in Multan.

Yusuf Raza Gilani said that the coalition government is aware of the country’s problems and taking steps to resolve them.

He said, that special measures had been taken earlier for the development of Multan and more will be done in the future too.

Chairman Senate said that special economic zones would be established in Multan.
