President reaffirms commitment to protect environment


President Asif Ali Zardari has reaffirmed the commitment to protect the environment to ensure a healthier, safer, and more resilient planet for our future generations.

In his message on World Environment Day, he stressed the need to overcome adverse impacts of climate change pioneering innovative solutions and fostering international partnerships.

The President said this day highlights our shared responsibility to protect our environment for future generations.

He said Pakistan’s unwavering resolve to tackle environmental challenges is showcased through initiatives like the Green Pakistan Programme, which has made significant strides in afforestation and ecosystem restoration.

AIIB agrees to promote cooperation with Pakistan


Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has agreed to promote cooperation with Pakistan in the areas of poverty reduction, climate change, financing instruments, and the advancement of SDGs.

The affirmation was made by Vice President and Corporate Secretary of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank Ludger Schuknecht during a meeting with Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema in Islamabad today.

The Minister for Economic Affairs commended AIIB’s crucial role in delivering assistance to Pakistan, especially during the 2022 floods, and briefed him on the country’s improving economic outlook.

Ahad Cheema appreciated AIIB’s favorable consideration of new project proposals from Pakistan in the infrastructure sector and expressed hope for continued collaboration in funding and implementing vital projects.

PM lauds Navy for successful anti-narcotics operation


Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has commended the officers and personnel of Pakistan Navy for the third consecutive successful anti-narcotics operation in the North Arabian Sea in the last ten days.

In a statement, he said Pakistan Navy’s measures to protect the country’s maritime boundaries and prevent illegal activities are appreciable.

Pak-China B2B ties hold key to bright future of two nations: PM


Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif says the mutually rewarding business to business cooperation between Pakistan and China holds the key to the bright future of the two countries.

In a post on his X handle, the Prime Minister referred to his participation in China Pakistan Business Forum in Shenzhen saying he highlighted bilateral trade and investment potential especially in key sectors including transfer of Chinese technology, industry and partnership in IT, agriculture, mining, steel, textiles and renewable energy.

The Prime Minister said he assured the Chinese friends of Pakistan’s commitment to facilitating investors, ensuring safety and security of Chinese individuals, projects and investments in Pakistan.

PM in Shenzhen on first leg of five-day visit to China


Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is in Shenzhen on the first leg of his five-day visit to China.

The Prime Minister will participate in China-Pakistan Business Forum today. Under the second phase of CPEC, the forum will be an important milestone for cooperation and partnership between Pakistani and Chinese companies in various fields.

The Prime Minister will also meet the heads of leading Chinese high-tech companies during the forum.

Later, the Prime Minister will also visit Nanshan One Window, Shenzhen Museum and Huawei headquarters.
