Prime Minister calls for collective efforts to preserve environment


Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called for collective efforts to safeguard and preserve the environment.

In a post on his X handle in connection with World Environment Day, he said we can make a significant impact on the health and sustainability of our environment by taking proactive steps towards endeavors to nurture and cultivate forests, revive and replenish dwindling water resources and rehabilitate and revitalize exhausted soils.

He emphasized the importance of embracing this responsibility and working towards a better and sustainable future for our planet.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve to combat environmental challenges and contribute to global efforts towards sustainability.

In his message on the World Environment Day, he said initiatives such as the Green Pakistan Programme, Living Indus Initiative, and National Adaptation Plan, underscore Pakistan’s commitment to reforestation and ecosystem restoration, tackling issues of deforestation and biodiver
sity loss head-on.

The Prime Minister recalled Pakistan’s climate diplomacy efforts during COP27, particularly in establishing a Loss and Damage Fund were recognized widely and viewed positively by international experts.

On the domestic front, he said Pakistan is actively working on developing sustainable long-term low-carbon development strategies. Additionally, he said robust afforestation programs are being implemented. He said initiatives like the Recharge Pakistan and Sustainable Land Management Program (SLMP) demonstrate Pakistan’s dedication to promoting sustainable agriculture practices and combating land degradation.

Teacher training seminar organized in Spinkai by Frontier Corps KP South


A teacher training seminar was organized at Cadet College Spinkai under the aegis of Frontier Corps Khyber Pakhtunkhwa South.

More than two hundred teachers and education department officials from South Waziristan participated in the seminar.

The participants of the seminar termed education as a guarantee to progress, peace and prosperity of the society.

Protest rally against war crimes committed by Indian troops in IIOJK taken out in Muzaffarabad


A protest rally against brutalities being committed by the occupation troops in Indian illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir was taken out in Muzaffarabad today.

The rally started from Old Secretariat and eliminated at Burhan Wani Shaheed Chowk.

Addressing the rally, speakers said that the BJP government is committing worst crime like genocide in held territory by killing innocent youths in fake encounters.

They said the Modi government is on disastrous path of demographic change by illegally issuing domiciles to Indian citizens in disputed territory and in violation of international law.

The protesters appealed the United Nations to play its due role for a just and lasting solution to the Kashmir issue.

The demonstration was led by Chairman Pasban e Hurriyat Uzair Ahmed Ghazali, Hurriyat leader Mushtaqul Islam, People’s Party leader Shaukat Javed Mir and others.

Punjab Govt bans production, sale of plastic bags


The Punjab government has imposed ban on production and sale of plastic bags across province from today.

In her message on World Environment Day, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif made the significant announcement.

She said the plastic ban policy will be strictly enforced, particularly in hotels, restaurants, and eateries.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the harmful effects of plastic on the environment and human health, stating that “No to Plastic” campaign, aimed at reducing environmental pollution and promoting eco-friendly initiatives.

Chair IPO-Pakistan stresses importance of robust IP regime for economic growth


Chair IPO-Pakistan Ambassador Farukh Amil has emphasized the crucial role of a robust Intellectual Property regime to attract foreign investors and economic growth.

The resolve was expressed in a panel discussion at the World Business Angel Investors Week 2024 in Islamabad today.

He also highlighted the importance of Intellectual Property and Intellectual Property Rights in the national economic growth and in projecting Pakistan positively on the global stage.

On this occasion, Country Chair WBAF Mr. Zakori stressed the need for greater financial inclusion, financial empowerment for start-ups and gender equality amongst many critical steps in order to make Pakistan a vibrant economy.
