Ishaq Dar calls for withdrawal of Israel from Arab territories


Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has called for total withdrawal of Israel from all occupied Arab territories.

Addressing the Extraordinary Meeting of the D-8 Council of Foreign Ministers in Istanbul today, he demanded the restitution of the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, including their right of return to Palestine, and the establishment of an independent homeland for the Palestinians with pre-1967 borders and Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.

The Foreign Minister urged the international community to act to get stopped the aggravating situation in Gaza. He said the International Court of Justice’s order directing Israel to immediately halt its military offensive in Gaza must be implemented.

Ishaq Dar said Pakistan has consistently supported a just, comprehensive and lasting peace in the occupied Palestinian territories based on international law and relevant United Nations resolutions. He said Pakistan believes that there can be no lasting peace in the Middle East witho
ut a comprehensive resolution of all outstanding Arab-Israeli disputes. The establishment of a sovereign, viable and contiguous Palestinian state is an absolutely prerequisite for regional peace and stability.

Ishaq Dar said silence and inaction in the face of outrageous killings, mistreatment and relocation of the Palestinians is not an option. He said we must stand up for our brothers and sisters in Palestine and present a united front to stop Israel’s inhumane and barbaric brutalities.

The Foreign Minister said this timely gathering of Foreign Ministers of eight important Muslim countries must send a strong message of support to the Palestinian people. He said it must also lead the call and campaign for concerted and immediate international action to halt Israeli aggression and open all channels of humanitarian assistance to the besieged people of Gaza.

Minister invites Chinese company to set up solar panel manufacturing plant


Minister for Power Division Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari has invited the Chinese company LONGi Green Energy Technology to set up solar PV manufacturing plant in Pakistan.

In a meeting with President of LONGi Green Energy Company, Zhenguo Li, the Minister briefed him about the solar potential in Pakistan and said that the share of renewable energy in the country’s energy mix is rapidly increasing.

Zhenguo Li assured his full support to promote solar energy in Pakistan.

Opportunities to invest in Gwadar available to all countries: Ahsan


Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal says high-quality development of Gwadar under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor will help it evolve into a world-class port city with opportunities maritime trade.

In an interview with Xinhua, he said Gwadar Port presents significant opportunities for maritime trade in the region, including giving access to landlocked Afghanistan.

Ahsan Iqbal said opportunities to invest in Gwadar are available to all countries to collaborate with Pakistan and China and enjoy the fruits of CPEC.

After completing early harvest projects in the first phase of CPEC, the minister said, the forthcoming phase will unlock significant opportunities for Pakistan, enhancing livelihoods and socio-economic development.

It will also connect Pakistan with cutting-edge technologies, driving an agricultural revolution and enhancing industrial growth to boost the country’s industrial capabilities, helping Pakistan become a model of export-led growth.

Pakistan, Turkiye to further cement bilateral economic cooperation


Pakistan and Turkiye have agreed to further strengthen their bilateral economic cooperation.

The understanding was reached during meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on the margins of Extraordinary Meeting of D-8 Council of Foreign Ministers in Istanbul, Turkiye today.

They also underscored the exemplary bilateral relations between Pakistan and Trkiye rooted in common faith, culture, and history.

The Turkish Foreign Minister congratulated Ishaq Dar on Pakistan’s election as a non-permanent member of UN Security Council.

Ishaq Dar expressed Pakistan’s appreciation for Turkiye’s support and its desire for working together to uphold international law and UN Charter.

The two sides called for concerted international efforts to end Israeli aggression and genocide of Palestinian people. They emphasized two-state solution for lasting peace in the Middle East.

eting of D-8 Council of Foreign Ministers to discuss the dire situation in Gaza resulting from Israeli aggression since October last.

PM invites Shaanxi’s enterprises to invest in Pakistan


Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, along with his delegation, met Party Secretary of Shaanxi province Zhao Yide in Xi’an, China today and discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in various sectors, including trade, technology, agricultural and cultural exchanges.

The two sides reaffirmed commitment to further deepen Pakistan-China strategic cooperation, including through promotion of B2B linkages and cultural exchanges.

They agreed to strengthen local and provincial level cooperative partnerships between Pakistan and China for mutual prosperity.

Underscoring Xi’an’s historical significance as a center of cultural and economic exchanges between the East and the West in the Ancient Silk Road, the Prime Minister emphasized continued collaboration between Pakistan and Shaanxi province in people-to-people exchanges particularly in the culture, tourism and education domains.

He also underlined the need to leverage sister-city relationships of Xi’an with Lahore and Multan through practical cooperat
ion at city-to-city level.

The Prime Minister said CPEC is growing from strength to strength with a focus on high quality development in the second phase.

The two sides agreed to strengthen economic cooperation through joint ventures in agriculture, bio-pharmaceuticals, automobile manufacturing, mining, chemicals and textiles sectors.

Secretary Zhao briefed the Prime Minister on the historical significance of Shaanxi province and provided an overview of Shaanxi’s economic and social development highlighting its status as one of the fastest growing regions of China.

The Prime Minister said China’s phenomenal development and support to the developing countries is an inspiration for Pakistan. He invited the state owned and private enterprises from Shaanxi province to benefit from the investor friendly policy framework and regulatory measures in Pakistan.
