Sindh budget for next fiscal year with total outlay of three thousand and fifty six billion rupees was presented in provincial Assembly in Karachi today.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah who also holds the portfolio of finance minister while presenting budgetary proposals in the house said Annual Development Programme will be of 959 billion rupees while 22 to 30 percent increase has been made in the salaries of government employees and 15 percent increase in the pension.

Syed Murad Ali Shah said 519 billion rupees have been allocated for Education, 334 billion rupees for Health while 329 billion rupees have been earmarked for local governments.

Similarly, 58 billion rupees have been allocated for the agriculture sector, 77 billion rupees for the energy sector, 94 billion rupees for the irrigation sector and 86 billion rupees for Works and Services departments.

Sindh Chief Minister said fifty six billion rupees have been allocated for Transport, 153 billion rupees for Services General Administrati
on and 194 billion rupees for Home Department.

He said minimum wages has been increased from thirty-two to thirty-seven thousand rupees.

He said special initiative has also been taken for the employees of scale 1 to 6 under which a personal pay would be introduced to bridge the difference.

Syed Murad Ali Shah said budget also includes 116 billion rupees allocation for subsidies to ease the financial burden on citizens.

He said 25 billion rupees will be provided for housing schemes.

Syed Murad Ali Shah said five billion rupees have also been earmarked for a Hub Canal Project that would provide water to Karachi.

Millions of faithful are moving to Mina to perform the Hajj rituals.

The pilgrims will remain in the tent valley tonight and tomorrow move to Maidan-e-Arafat to perform the Rukn-e-Azm of Hajj Waqoof-e-Arafat.

Radio Pakistan Correspondent in Makkah, Bilal Khan Mehsud reports that the officials of Pakistan Hajj Mission are seeing off the pilgrims for their destination to towards Mina.

The government of Pakistan has made elaborate arrangement to transport Pakistani pilgrims to Mina through buses and trains.

Some of the faithful are traveling on foot to reach Mina, which is situated at almost eight kilometer from Makkah.

Pakistan has dispatched another tranche of relief assistance for the people of Gaza.

The tranche was sent by National Disaster Management Authority in collaboration with Al-Khidmat Foundation.

Member National Assembly Kesoo Mal Kheeal Das was the Chief Guest at send-off ceremony while senior officials of NDMA and Al Khidmat Foundation were also present.

The shipment is destined to reach Aqba Port Jordan, for further distribution to People of Gaza.

This 9th relief consignment comprises of approximately 300 tons of aid including medicines, hygiene kits and food packs as per needs at Gaza.

Earlier, NDMA has sent 8 relief consignments comprising approximately 1000 tons of aid which included special winterized tents, blankets, surgical supplies, medicines, Female Dignity kit and food packs.

Millions of Hajj pilgrims from across the world converged on a vast tent camp of Mina in the desert of Makkah today opening the annual Hajj pilgrimage.

The Hajj pilgrims will remain in the tent valley tonight and tomorrow move to Maidan-e-Arafat to perform the Rukn-e-Azm of Hajj, Waqoof-e-Arafa.

After Saturday’s stay in Arafat, pilgrims will travel to Muzdalifa to collect pebbles that they will use in the symbolic stoning of pillars representing the devil back in Mina.

Pilgrims then return for festive Eid al-Adha as well as Qurbani.

Saudi Arabia has announced that the Arafat sermon translation project will now encompass 50 languages.

This initiative, spearheaded by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, marks the world’s largest project of its kind.

The project reflects the Kingdom’s dedication to spreading the message of moderation and Islamic values on a global scale.

Saudi Arabia aspires to reach one billion listeners worldwide, fostering greater understanding and
promoting peace through the message of the Arafat sermon.

A Subsidiary Loan Agreement worth 25 million for the Mohmand Dam Hydropower Project was signed in Islamabad today.

It was signed between the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Water and Power Development Authority.

This significant financing comes as a result of the Kuwait Fund’s commitment to extend a total of 100 million dollars to support the Mohmand Dam Hydropower Project. The total financing will be disbursed through four equal loans, each amounting to 25 million dollars. The first loan agreement was signed between the Government of Pakistan and the Kuwait Fund this month.

The Mohmand Dam is a comprehensive infrastructure project designed to address multiple needs. It aims to generate approximately 2,862 GWH of electricity annually with an installed capacity of 800 MW, significantly reducing the existing energy supply gap.

Additionally, the dam will create an active storage reservoir with a capacity of about 1,594 million cubic meters, ensuring a reliable and sustained supply of irrigation water.

he 213-meter high structure will also play a critical role in flood control, mitigating the risk of flood damage and providing essential flood protection.

Furthermore, the project will supply 13.32 cubic meters per second of drinking water to Peshawar.
