Ahsan appeals to philanthropists to donate blankets for flood-hit shelter-less people

Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has appealed to the Parliamentarians and philanthropists to donate blankets for the flood affected shelter-less people before the onset of winter season.

Taking the floor during the Joint Session of the Parliament in Islamabad on Tuesday, the Planning Minister, referring to the devastation wreaked by floods in different parts of the country, said collective efforts are required to overcome the challenge posed by the natural calamity.

Earlier, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Murtaza Javed Abbasi said the Parliament should act against those who violated the country’s constitution. He pointed out that an audio leak of former Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin reveals that he tried to sabotage the government’s deal with the IMF.

Minister for Parliamentary Affairs said Parliament should also take action against former Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri, whose ruling on the no-confidence motion moved against the then Prime Minister, was in violation of the constitution.
