Asim Iftikhar Represents Pakistan at UN Memorial Service

New york: Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the United Nations, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, represented Pakistan at the United Nations Annual Memorial Service held at the UN headquarters.

According to Radio Pakistan, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres solemnly honored the memory of 136 UN personnel, including both peacekeepers and civilian staff, who made the ultimate sacrifice in 2025 while serving the causes of peace, development, and humanitarian action globally.

Among those honored was Muhammad Afzal of Pakistan, who lost his life in the line of duty in Addis Ababa on February 20th last year, while serving with the United Nations Population Fund. A tribute was paid to Muhammad Afzal for his dedication, professionalism, and commitment to the principles and values of the United Nations.

His service was remembered with profound respect, and condolences were extended to his family, colleagues, and loved ones.
