Islamabad: Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfaraz Bugti expressed his gratitude to the federal government for allocating funds to the dualization of a major highway and the Kacchi canal project in Balochistan. He conveyed this appreciation during a news conference held in Islamabad, alongside Federal Ministers Jam Kamal and Khalid Magsi.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Chief Minister emphasized that the funding represents a positive gesture for the people of Balochistan, as it involves the national exchequer, which belongs to every Pakistani. He highlighted that the dualization of the N-25 highway, which connects Chaman, Quetta, Kallat, Khuzdar, and Karachi, will enhance transportation by providing an international standard road facility.
The Chief Minister further noted that the completion of the Kacchi canal project is essential for initiating an agricultural revolution in the region by facilitating the irrigation of farmland. Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan praised the Prime Minister’s decision, stating that such initiatives offer a fresh vision for the youth of Balochistan, enabling them to contribute to the nation’s development.
Minister for Science and Technology Khalid Hussain Magsi expressed confidence in the quality assurance of the projects. He also extended gratitude to the Prime Minister for granting an additional ten percent quota for Baloch students in China’s agricultural graduates program.
Addressing inquiries, Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti reiterated the government’s commitment to improving the security situation in Balochistan, acknowledging it as a significant challenge that they are prepared to tackle. He also noted improvements in public sector development expenditure aimed at benefiting the province’s population.
