Bilawal Calls for Political Consensus to Address Challenges

Islamabad: The National Assembly is continuing its debate on the Federal Budget for the upcoming financial year. Participating in the budget discussions, Chairman of the Pakistan People's Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, emphasized the importance of political consensus in addressing the nation's challenges effectively.

According to Radio Pakistan, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari urged both federal and provincial governments to devise a long-term, sustainable plan that is rooted in growth-oriented economic policies. This approach, he argued, is essential to meet the country's development and defence requirements. He expressed satisfaction with the agreement reached by Sindh and other provinces to contribute to national defence, highlighting that this consensus was achieved within the constitutional framework and democratic norms.

Bilawal also praised the Benazir Income Support Programme for its positive impact on the underprivileged sectors of society and welcomed the increased budget allocation for the program. He addressed the ongoing protests in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, urging demonstrators to abandon violence and engage in peaceful dialogue to resolve their issues. Furthermore, he proposed granting interim parliamentary representation to Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan in Pakistan's Parliament, advocating for political solutions to all issues.
