KP CM directs completion of formalities for academic activities in UVAS

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan has directed the concerned authorities to complete all formalities on a priority basis for the commencement of academic activities at the newly established University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences.

This is the first-ever university of its kind in the province and of vital importance owning to growing needs of veterinary education in the region.

It is pertinent to mention here that the newly established university will provide education and research facilities in 20 different departments of three faculties.

Efforts underway to establish new universities in Karachi: Tessori

Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori says educated youth is asset and guarantor of Pakistan’s bright future.

Addressing a convocation in Karachi on Sunday, the Governor said he is working to establish new universities in Karachi.

Later, the Governor distributed certificates and medals among students.

A delegation from University of Oxford called on Minister of State Hina Rabbani Khar today (Tuesday).

They discussed academic diplomacy and opening doors for Pakistani students and academics in Oxford.

Thousands of poor children being provided education, health scholarships: Shazia

Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety Shazia Marri says Benazir Income Support Programme is providing education and health scholarships to thousands of children belonging to poor families.

In his video message on World Children’s Day on Sunday, she said we should remember that millions of children have been displaced by the recent floods and are waiting for our help.

The Minister urged the nation to come together to help these affected children.

Shazia Marri said that BISP is also providing sachets of vitamins and minerals to the mother and the child.

Highlighting the importance of education, she said that through unique educational scholarships, children of poor families are imparted basic education. She said girls are given special given more importance in such scholarships.

Promotion of higher education top priority of Govt: Baligh

Punjab Governor Baligh ur Rehman says higher education is the PML-N government’s top priority and it has increased the funds to promote it.

He stated this during a meeting with delegation of social media team, led by Governor’s Digital Media Coordinator, Hassan Malik.

He said we took a difficult decision to come into power along our allies, to save the country from economic crisis.
