China has expressed willingness to promote extension of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor to Afghanistan in order to make the country a bridge for regional connectivity.
Addressing a regular briefing in Beijing, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Wang Wenbin appreciated and welcomed Afghanistan’s active participation in joint construction of the Chinese Belt and Road initiative.
Commenting on the Chinese Foreign Minister’s recent visit to Kabul, he said Wang Yi held fruitful talks with Acting Deputy Prime Minister Abdul Ghani Baradar, and Acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Mutaki.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson said the visit will help promote peaceful reconstruction of Afghanistan and maintain regional peace and stability.
