Karachi: The 16th death anniversary of prominent Urdu poet, writer, and columnist Shabnam Romani was observed on Monday. Shabnam Romani, born in 1928 in Badaun city of Uttar Pradesh in British India, made significant contributions to Urdu literature through his poetry and writings.
According to Radio Pakistan, Shabnam Romani authored several books, including “Jazeera,” “Doosra Himala,” and “Tohmat,” which have been appreciated by literary enthusiasts. He was also known for his literary column ‘Hyde Park’ in the daily newspaper ‘Mashrik,’ where he shared his insights for an extended period.
In 1989, Shabnam Romani launched the literary journal ‘Aqdar,’ which received positive acclaim within literary circles. His death occurred on this day in 2009 in Karachi at the age of 81, marking the end of a remarkable literary journey.
