Mashhad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, is currently in Mashhad, Iran, to partake in the 28th meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO). Upon his arrival, he was warmly welcomed at the airport by Vice Governor General of Razavi Khorasan province, Mohammad Ali Nabipoor, along with Pakistan’s Ambassador to Iran, Mudassir Tipu.
According to Radio Pakistan, during the ministerial meeting, Ishaq Dar is expected to reaffirm Pakistan’s dedication to the ECO Charter. He aims to underscore the importance of enhanced connectivity within the ECO region, emphasizing the development of road and rail networks, the liberalization of visa regimes, and the simplification of border procedures to facilitate greater regional integration.
Additionally, the deputy prime minister is set to sign the ‘Charter for ECO Clean Energy Center’, a significant step towards fostering sustainable energy initiatives within the region. On the sideline
s of the ministerial meeting, he will also engage in bilateral discussions with other participating ministers and dignitaries to strengthen diplomatic and economic ties.
