Dialogue and Diplomacy Emphasized as Path Forward by Deputy Prime Minister Dar

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has reaffirmed that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only way forward to address outstanding issues. He made these remarks during a meeting with UK High Commissioner Jane Marriott, who called on him in Islamabad.

According to Radio Pakistan, Deputy Prime Minister Dar discussed recent regional and international developments, emphasizing the importance of implementing the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in its entirety. He expressed appreciation for the positive momentum in Pakistan-UK relations, referencing his recent meeting with UK Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband during the ASEAN Regional Forum in Manila. During their discussions, they highlighted the significance of maintaining sustained high-level contacts.

Deputy Prime Minister Dar and High Commissioner Marriott explored key areas of mutual interest and discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and the UK. High Commissioner Marriott also conveyed warm wishes to Pakistan on its Independence Day.
