Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar spoke with Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand on Sunday, where they exchanged views on the regional situation, focusing on recent developments in the Middle East and South Asia.
According to Radio Pakistan, during the telephonic conversation, the two leaders discussed the significance of the recently signed Makkah Joint Defence Agreement among Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Trkiye. Ishaq Dar emphasized the shared commitment of these nations to enhance regional peace, stability, and security through this agreement.
The conversation also touched upon the evolving dynamics in the US-Iran context, reflecting on the broader implications for regional stability. Furthermore, Deputy Prime Minister Dar highlighted the ongoing situation in Occupied East Jerusalem, referencing the Ministerial Meeting on Jerusalem that was recently convened in Jordan.
Ishaq Dar expressed appreciation for the continued diplomatic exchanges and thanked Anita Anand for her recent visit to Pakistan. They concluded their discussion with a mutual agreement to maintain close engagement on issues of shared interest.
