Earthquake: Masood Khan expresses solidarity with Turkish brethren

Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States Masood Khan visited Turkish embassy in Washington to express solidarity with the Turkish brethren after a terrific earthquake that claimed tens of thousands of precious lives in Turkiye.

Penning down his remarks in the Condolence Book, the Ambassador said it is not a tragedy for the beloved people of Turkiye but for the whole international community.

He said the entire Pakistani nation is in mourning as your grief is our grief.

Masood Khan said we pay tribute to the Government and the people of Türkiye who are dealing with the tragedy with courage and tenacity.

On the occasion, Turkish Ambassador Hasan Murat Mercan apprised Masood Khan of the latest situation in the calamity-hit areas.

Masood Khan told the Turkish ambassador that Pakistan had launched an appeal for calamity-stricken people of Turkey.

He said the Embassy of Pakistan in Washington has also launched an appeal to Pakistani diaspora in the United States to generously contribute towards relief assistance.

The Turkish ambassador appreciated the sentiments and generosity demonstrated by the people of Pakistan and Pakistani diaspora in the United States.

Earlier, the Pakistani ambassador was escorted to various places by the Turkish Embassy officials where relief supplies received from philanthropist, civil society, Turkish diaspora, Muslim and other communities were being collected, organized and dispatched to the affected areas.

The Ambassador interacted with volunteers and members of Turkish diaspora and shared their grief. He also appreciated the response being shown for the Turkish brethren.
